"When you purchase a skirt from Owen&Abi not only will your sweet little one receive an adorable skirt, but as you watch that little one dance, twirl and play in that skirt you will know that another little girl is able to do the same."
"Skirt For A Skirt"
The vision behind it!
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
1Corinthians 10:31
Hi my name is Katy Hill, I am the wife to an amazing man, and the mama to two sweet little joys living life in Portland Oregon. I have found myself creating from an early age. I can recall making up products and performing my own infomercials to my mom pretty regularly. I used to cut up clothes to sew purses and I’d hot glue just about anything! My love for crafting and creating has grown since having children. I have found it is a great time for me to relax and unwind. I started my Etsy shop in 2011 initially making felt flower headbands. I have since then continued to make headbands along with a few other goodies. Recently I have begun to make little girl skirts. I was inspired by seeing tons of great tutorials on Pinterest, and once my daughter started walking I couldn’t wait to get her in a skirt! As much as I loved creating and selling on Etsy I wanted to use this talent of mine to serve and love people. The phrase “Skirt For A Skirt” rolled into my mind and I truly believe God has used it to inspire something much greater than myself in me, and something that points back to the essence of who He is. The thought of being able to take part in being the hands of Jesus and helping to provide for little girls in need brought so much joy to my heart! I have partnered with a local organization here in Portland called Northwest Children's Outreach. NCO has served roughly 300,000 children since opening their first small center about 13 years ago. There are now 6 centers in Oregon and two in Washington. Their organization, accepts donations that they then sort, pack and deliver to different care providers/agencies for needy children and their families throughout Oregon and SW Washington. With their backing I plan to donate one skirt for every skirt that is purchased in my shop. I am beyond excited to “stand in the gap” with them as they serve to help meet the needs of these children and their families. Would you “stand in the gap” as well? When you purchase a skirt from Owen&Abi not only will your sweet little one receive an adorable skirt, but as you watch that little one dance, twirl and play in that skirt you will know that another little girl is able to do the same. Would you help provide some of the basic needs for these children? Would you join me in giving a “Skirt For A Skirt” ?
“Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth”
1John 3:18.
I am so excited to document this journey, and to hopefully be able to donate so many skirts to NCO! If you are interested in purchasing a skirt for your little one, and donating one to a girl in need, please see the above tab titled "Owen&Abi" where you can purchase the skirt from my shop!
Also please see the above tab titled "More" where you will find a link to the Northwest Children's Outreach website. There you can make a monetary donation, or if you're local, find out ways you can donate things or your time!
