am meeting new people through my Instagram feed who are so encouraging and supportive and can't wait to get on board with what I am doing. It's the people buying the skirts I make that are making this a possibility for me and I could not be more thankful!
(I know it's long, but it is good, definitely try to listen to the song!)
Send some rain, would You send some rain?
'Cause the earth is dry and needs to drink again
And the sun is high and we are sinking in the shade
Would You send a cloud, thunder long and loud?
Let the sky grow black and send some mercy down
Surely You can see that we are thirsty and afraid
But maybe not, not today
Maybe You'll provide in other ways
And if that's the case ...
We'll give thanks to You with gratitude
For lessons learned in how to thirst for You
How to bless the very sun that warms our face
If You never send us rain
Daily bread, give us daily bread
Bless our bodies, keep our children fed
Fill our cups, then fill them up again tonight
Wrap us up and warm us through
Tucked away beneath our sturdy roofs
Let us slumber safe from danger's view this time
Or maybe not, not today sponsored links
Maybe You'll provide in other ways
And if that's the case ...
We'll give thanks to You with gratitude
A lesson learned to hunger after You
That a starry sky offers a better view
If no roof is overhead
And if we never taste that bread
Oh, the differences that often are between
Everything we want and what we really need
So grant us peace, Jesus, grant us peace
Move our hearts to hear a single beat
Between alibis and enemies tonight
Or maybe not, not today
Peace might be another world away
And if that's the case ...
We'll give thanks to You with gratitude
For lessons learned in how to trust in You
That we are blessed beyond what we could ever dream
In abundance or in need
And if You never grant us peace ...
But, Jesus, would You please ...
I couldn't help but feel so much gratitude in my own heart, along with the deep need to repent for the times I have been so distrusting in my relationship with Jesus. As much as life can look glamorous, or easy on Instagram, there are many times when it is not, and things are hard, and I get overwhelmed. "Oh, the differences that often are between everything we want and what we really need"... that sunk to my core. How often I worry about what we "need" or don't have, and really if we had nothing, we have been given the gift of freedom and a redeemed life through Jesus and that alone is enough. I was reminded this morning, again, by my Jesus that He will take care of us and that He always provides in the same way that He will take care of these sweet children that we are serving through the Northwest Children's Outreach.
Ultimately we are His children, and He is a good Father.
I'm so thankful for the chance to take part in HIS work at the center.
Helping those that need help, giving to those that need. Reaching out with open hands, without judgment. Being loving and kind, and pouring out the grace we have been freely given.
Oh how I fall short.
Thankful for this grace filled life.
I'm thankful I am getting to know these sweet women, and that I get to witness that love and joy that pour out of them as they serve and give back.
